The MBHTE issued a memorandum on Tuesday (Sept 22) echoing DepEd Memorandum 00-0920-0168 that encourages the participation of DepEd personnel and learners in online campaigns, assessing and reducing one’s carbon footprint and learning about climate change to help the environment.
According to the DepEd memo, September marks the International Clean-up Month as a fruit of passion and advocacy from communities that aims to collect and document trash littering the coastline.
“While strictly urged to adhere to community quarantine protocols, learners and personnel can do their part by learning the importance of coastal ecosystems, auditing their trash, reducing them at source and participating in online campaigns,” the DepEd memo stated.
The education department urges all DepEd social media accounts to share relevant content on Global Day of Climate Action on September 25, 2020 and the celebration of the International Coastal Cleanup Month using the hashtag #DepEdClimateAction.
