MBHTE concludes 3-day Qur-aan recitation, memorization competition

The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education’s (MBHTE) Directorate General for Madaris Education (DGME) concluded the three-day 3rd BARMM Qur’an recitation and memorization competition at Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex.

The activity, which began last January 20, aimed to promote the value and importance of Qur’an reading in the region.

BARMM Senior Minister Abdulraof Macacua personally extended his congratulations to all the participants.

“To all the winners, congratulations. Sa mga hindi papalarin, I also want to congratulate them dahil Malaki na ang reward ninyo sa pagbasa pa lang ng Qur’an lalo pa at ito ay Ikhlas,” he said.

In his message delivered by the host, BTA Speaker Hon. Atty. Pangalian M. Balindong said that the event is an important aspect of our obligation to propagate the Islamic faith not only to fellow Muslims but also to people of other faiths, as well.

“As Muslims, it is our duty to share with everyone the sacred message of the Holy Qur’an as well as its beautiful poetic element,” said Atty. Balindong.

Qur’an recitation (Al-Mujawwadah)

1st: 𝐑𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐚 𝐇. 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐚𝐟𝐚𝐫 (𝐋𝐃𝐒 𝐈)

2nd: 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐳 𝐒. 𝐙𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 (𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐈𝐈)

The champions of the competition received a cash prize worth Php 100,000.00. 1st placers received Php 75,000.00 and 2nd placers Php 50,000.00.

Underscored the importance of the Qur’an and considering it as the final teaching of faith, MBHTE Minister Mohagher Iqbal also highlighted that the education ministry’s step to educate the succeeding generations to know the Holy Qur’an is by hiring Islamic Studies and Arabic Language teachers and giving attention to traditional madrasahs.
