The Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education through the Bureau of Alternative Learning System, in collaboration with UNICEF, organized a stakeholders consultation workshop on partnerships and strengthening cooperation in ALS education program. The activity seeks to strengthen alliances among program stakeholders, including non-governmental organization partners, to develop policies to address evolving challenges in the implementation of ALS in the BARMM region. Partners UNICEF, ILO, Plan International, SYNERGEIA, and the Bangsamoro Development Agency presented valuable solutions, highlighting strategies to bring out-of-school young people in the Bangsamoro region to ALS learning centers.
MBHTE BALS Director Daud Kadon recognizes how difficult it is for students to return to school after the pandemic, recognizing that vulnerable groups such as children and youth with disabilities, indigenous people, internally displaced people, disadvantaged communities, and those living in conflict zones are most marginalized due to gaps in education programs and services. “We understand the value of collaboration between governmental and education stakeholders. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their inspirational solutions to help the ALS program in the region thrive,” said Director Kadon. “We invite all key stakeholders to join us in committing to achieving inclusive and quality education for all,” according to regional focal person for ALS Faisal Dimalen.
