The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) conducted Tuesday, February 21, a Regional Consultation on the reactivation of the two (2) schools divisions of Sulu with the end view of improving the delivery of education service to more than 400 schools which are dispersed all over the islands of Sulu.
In his message delivered by Deputy Minister Haron Meling, Education Minister Mohagher Iqbal said “I have high hopes that this exclusive engagement with you bring into fore the very spirit of consultation that will result in identifying areas of improvement for the efficient and effective delivery of education services in the province of Sulu in a 2-divison set-up.”
Pursuant to Executive Order (EO) No. 0002, series of 2021, the BARMM Government through the Office of the Chief Minister (OCM) is continuously finding ways and improvements to attain operational efficiency and effectiveness to ensure that quality social services are delivered to all Bangsamoro constituents regardless of religion, economic status, tribal, and political affiliation.
Minister Iqbal emphasized that although the EO was issued last 2021, the MBHTE has not yet enforced it due to (a) the pandemic and the face-to-face classes had not been in effect under the Safe Return to School Framework and (b) reactivating the two (2) schools divisions necessitate a leveling off session with stakeholders to see perspectives, feedbacks, and co-create strategies, projects, and activities.
Held at Garden Orchids Hotel Zamboanga City, the activity aimed to bring everyone to the same understanding of the purpose and objective of the EO, which is basically revisiting the two (2) Sulu schools division arrangement in previous years and how this contributes to the integrated education system under the MBHTE.
