With the theme, “Enhancing national unity by mainstreaming Bangsamoro history”, this year’s commemoration aims to remind us of the long history of the Bangsamoro and some of its most unforgettable chapters.

The series of programs and activities for this month is anchored with the objective to reminisce the long history of the Bangsamoro, including the Bud Dajo Massacre, Jabidah Massacre, Dansalan Declaration, the signing of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro, the Inauguration of BARMM, and the Inaugural Session of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority, among others.

Pursuant to Proclamation No. 0001, the Chief Minister on March 8, 2021 declared the month of March as “Bangsamoro History Month” where the established BARMM is a monumental milestone in the course of the Bangsamoro peace process and the Bangsamoro Government recognizes the many other significant occasions in the history of the Bangsamoro in pursuit of peace and the right to self-determination.
