After the courtesy visit paid by Minister Mohagher Iqbal to Municipal Vice Mayor Zulficar Tulawie of Talipao, Sulu, held Friday, May 11, the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) eyes the establishment of Alternative Learning System (ALS) program and the construction of different school building projects and facilities at the municipality.
In the Philippines, ALS is a parallel learning system that provides opportunities for out-of-school-youth and adult learners to develop basic and functional literacy skills, and to access equivalent pathways to complete basic education.
The Ministry’s Education Facilties Section has to conduct further evaluation and validation to assess school building needs of every school in the region and to determine the right infrastructure to be constructed in the areas considering the site location.
Vice Mayor Tulawie is hopeful that these program and projects will be provided to them by the MBHTE for the benefit and welfare of their learners.
