680 BARMMAA delegates join this year’s Palarong Pambansa

CEBU CITY — Around 680 delegates of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Athletic Association (BARMMAA) joined the opening program of the 2024 Palarong Pambansa held today, July 9, at the city’s sports center.

Kicked off with a grand parade, the ceremony featured 17 participating regions across the country.

With the theme “Beyond Sports: Puso sa Paglalaro, Galing sa Pagpupunyagi, Talino sa Pag-aaral”, the activity will run from July 10 to 16.

Emphasizing the significance of the event, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., led the official opening of the week-long multi-sports competition.

“The Palarong Pambansa stands as the country’s pinnacle of national sporting events. It is also a platform where we discover, develop, and hone future professional athletes, Olympians, and servant-leaders,” said President Marcos.

The Palaro is a scholastic competition which aims to bring student-athletes from across the Philippines to compete in various events. It promotes not only physical fitness but also encourages a friendly competition with discipline and mutual respect.
