In a significant development for education in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the Bangsamoro Science High School (BSHS) conducted its inaugural Board of Trustees meeting on Monday, January 15, marking the initiation of a transformative phase in science and education.
The creation of the BSHS was enacted through the Bangsamoro Autonomy Act No. 40. As outlined in the law, the BSHS System falls under the administrative control and supervision of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). The system comprises the Board of Trustees, the Executive Director, and the Campus Directors.
In adherence to the law, the Board includes the Minister of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education as the ex officio Vice-Chairperson.
The meeting was a crucial starting point for the BSHS System, emphasizing transparency and accountability in its foundational stages.
