BARMM Chief Minister creates fact-finding committee to investigate alleged anomalies in the MBHTE’s teacher hiring process

In a significant step towards ensuring transparency and accountability in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the Office of the Chief Minister created the Special Fact-Finding Investigation Committee to probe allegations concerning irregularities and misconduct in the hiring process of teachers. Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim signed the memorandum creating the said Committee on 11 October 2023.

The Chief Minister appointed Attorney General Sha Elijah B. Dumama-Alba as head of the Committee to ensure impartiality, integrity, and expertise in pursuing truth and justice. The Committee’s membership consists of regional government officials and the Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE).

The Chief Minister and the MBHTE leadership are confident that the Committee can conduct a thorough, unbiased, and impartial investigation of misconduct allegations. The results of this investigation will not only shed light on the specific claims but also strengthen the observance of Moral Governance in the region.

With the establishment of this Committee, the MBHTE urges individuals with information, evidence, or concerns related to these allegations to come forward and cooperate with the investigation. Concerned citizens can report via hotline numbers 09668921231 and 09202061941 or email [email protected].
