The Cotabato City Schools Division Office (SDO) was the winner of the first-ever Bangsamoro Quiz Bowl Competition held on January 24, at Cotabato City People’s Palace.
Representing the champion SDO, who received a cash prize of Php 50,000.00, were Shannarayne Camino Ampatuan, Aieesha Ameena Shanique M. Sajili, Durriyah M. Abdulnasser, and Khristine Grace L. Mucosa all from Cotabato City National High School – Main Campus.
The competition was one of the education-related activities conducted by the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) in line with the celebration of the fourth Bangsamoro Foundation Anniversary.
MBHTE Minister Mohagher Iqbal extended his
congratulations to all the participants, winner or not, underscoring that failure is really part of one’s success.
The first runner-up was from Lanao del Sur II Division. Their representatives Abol Caiz A. Pagrangan, Juhanah A. Casim, Noralia A. Tahir, and Ebtizam U. Macadatar received a cash prize of Php 40,000.00.
Php 30,000.00 cash prize were given to Yasrinah U. H. Aiman, Nabila S. Maamor, Johanisah H. C. Maruhom, and Rahmanyza P. Sultan from Marawi City Division who won Second runner-up.
The fourth runner-up, who received Php 20,000.00 was Sulu Division represented by Safeeya A. Mala, Denrajeev H. Jondam, Alyasin Amer Hadjiisah, and Sasiuno A. Maang.
Emphasizing the importance of education, Minister Iqbal also said that “the success of the learner does not affect their status.”
“Mas umaangat ang buhay ng tao kapag edukado,” he said reminding the participants to “magsumikap dahil ang pag-aaral ay isang portion lang ng buhay.”
