Cotabato City, April 11, 2023 – The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) held here today another mass oath taking ceremony and signing of appointments of its 544 teaching and non-teaching personnel from the schools divisions of Maguindanao I and II, Marawi City, and Special Geographic Areas, including the Higher Education and Regional Office.

MBHTE Minister Mohagher Iqbal expressed his congratulations to these personnel for successfully passing the competitive and skills-based hiring process.

“The fact that you completed the hiring process, which I should say is a difficult process… Alhamdulillah, I am confident that we have selected a new breed of competent MBHTE personnel,” said Iqbal.

The following were the 544 personnel who took their oaths:

Emphasizing that these personnel were now morally obligated and committed to fulfill their duties, responsibilities, and obligations, Iqbal said they are pledging to perform their duties truthfully and with honor.

“We have a competent workforce, the necessary resources, evidence-based policies, the legal mandate, and the partnership to meet the significant and sometimes unprecedented challenges of raising and maintaining teaching and learning standards in the Bangsamoro Region. In other words, there is no reason for us to fail in fulfilling our oath to serve the people… I hope this is clear,” Iqbal underscored.

Meanwhile, according to Member of Parliament (MP) Eddie Alih, he was privileged to be in the ceremony.

“I am in the academe for 36 years. I know that as educators, we play vital roles in shaping minds and characters,” he said.

He advised these newly hired and promoted officials to dedicate themselves in their works and “to be responsible citizens not only in BARMM but also to the whole country.”

Moreover, he encouraged the educators, parents, and the Ministry to collaborate to create a nurturing learning environment.
