445 Islamic Studies and Arabic Language (ISAL) Teachers-Asaatidz in Tawi-Tawi Schools Division Office (SDO) were renewed for another six-month contract from July to December 2023.
This was following the signing of contracts activity led by the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education’s (MBHTE) Directorate General for Madaris Education (DGME) which was held today, May 14, at Tawi-Tawi Gymnasium.
Minister Iqbal emphasized that the Education Ministry prominently recognizes the ISAL as an important component of public education in the entire Bangsamoro region.
“It is a venue for balanced education that aims to provide Muslim children learning in Islamic knowledge in addition to the compulsory Basic Education curriculum,” he added.
It can be recalled that last May 10, 2023, the MBHTE also renewed 659 ISAL Teachers-Asaatidz in Sulu SDO.
It is expected that same contract renewal will be conducted for the remaining SDOs in BARMM.
